Inflatable Packers International (IPI) has made significant advancements in inflatable packer technology to meet the demands of deep and high-stress mining environments. These advancements include tools for high-pressure permeability testing, hydraulic fracturing for pre-conditioning and rockburst mitigation, and stress testing. The development of hydraulic packer systems, such as the Standard Wireline Packer System (SWiPS) and the STX-60 tool, has improved the efficiency and safety of hydrological and geotechnical investigations. These tools are designed to operate at greater depths and in more remote locations, offering higher pressure ratings and enhanced functionality. Future developments may include the use of coiled tubing systems and further innovations in hydraulic fracturing techniques for mining applications.
