Yes, however, the acceptable concentration of H2S or CO2 depends on multiple parameters including temperature and hydrostatic pressure. Our engineers can review the well parameters and advise whether you can use inflatable solutions for your application.
Inflatable Packers don’t require a seperate anchor mechanism such as slips. The anchoring force is provided by the friction between the packer element and the wellbore wall. Moreover, most of our packer elements have a DuraGrip™ cover to provide a metal-to-metal contact and increased friction.
Inflatable Packers are set by pumping fluid to them. You can use Drill pipe, Coiled Tubing or any other workstring to run them in the hole and inflate them.
Yes, you can set inflatable packers in damaged casings, however, it’s better to investigate the sealing face by running multifinger calliper to ensure there is no leak path.
Yes, inflatable packers are the safest option for non-metal casings, as the packer axial force can be adjusted by the inflation pressure to avoid damaging or deforming the casing.
Stuart recently joined IPI as the Director of Oil and Gas, bringing with him 15 years of diverse experience in the industry, with a strong focus on inflatable packers. His extensive background encompasses a variety of roles, including field engineering, operations management, sales, and business development. This breadth of expertise, coupled with his international experience in markets across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, positions Stuart to effectively lead and expand IPI’s oil and gas operations on a global scale. Stuart holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Master’s degree in Finance from City University of London. His robust technical foundation and financial acumen uniquely empower him to drive strategic initiatives and foster growth within the company.
