The Expandable Casing Patch (XCP) combines decades of proven inflatable and metal expandable expertise to deliver a robust, high-performance solution for downhole casing repair and isolation. Engineered with both strength and application flexibility in mind, XCP provides a reliable metal expandable patch system capable of addressing a wide range of wellbore challenges across diverse operating environments.
Through optimized and fully customizable expansion geometry, XCP maximizes post-expansion internal diameter – minimizing wellbore restriction, preserving flow efficiency, and enabling future intervention access. In selected sizes, patch-through-patch capability is achievable, offering additional operational flexibility. Advanced seal designs and elastomer options provide gas-tight integrity, while high-temperature configurations support applications in demanding environments, including geothermal wells up to 600°F (315°C).
Delivered as a true single-trip solution, XCP integrates the running tool and patch into a streamlined, efficient deployment system. Utilizing IPI’s proprietary inflatable expansion technology, the casing patch is expanded in a controlled and uniform manner, ensuring precise placement and performance. Full expansion is verified and drifted upon retrieval of the running tool, providing confidence in achieving the required internal diameter and sealing integrity.

Stuart recently joined IPI as the Director of Oil and Gas, bringing with him 15 years of diverse experience in the industry, with a strong focus on inflatable packers. His extensive background encompasses a variety of roles, including field engineering, operations management, sales, and business development. This breadth of expertise, coupled with his international experience in markets across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, positions Stuart to effectively lead and expand IPI’s oil and gas operations on a global scale. Stuart holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Master’s degree in Finance from City University of London. His robust technical foundation and financial acumen uniquely empower him to drive strategic initiatives and foster growth within the company.
